3-D Sugar Skulls with Glitter!

Postby bombshellstamps on Fri Sep 25, 2009 10:28 am

I found some fantastic little foam skulls at the dollar store this week, and also picked up a couple packs of colored gems, glitter glue, and glitter. I spent a total of $5 on the entire project. So simple, and they actually look like 5" tall sugar skulls! They'll make a charming little gift for my friends birthday next week.

I love 'em. They're wonderful. I love all the glittery swirls and flowers.

My favorite part? Their huge gemstone eyeballs. I also really love their glittery lipstick and teeth.

After researching all things Day of the Dead and designing the Sugar Skull line, I figured it was time to do a 3-D design. The skull was originally all white and I put black glitter in the eye and nose sockets. They turned out with a lotta personality and I'm really pleased! Thanks for the feedback!

That's where I got these, at Dollar Tree  My DH calls that my happy store because it's the only place that I don't hesitate to buy stuff!

My friend Mark's bday is Nov.4 & mine is the 1st so we always exchange handmade Halloween gifts the week before. I'm sure he & his wife will flip. They are both very creative.
